How do I join?

What is the difference between Provisional membership and Full Professional membership?

Everyone joins NASMM as a Provisional member. Whether you're in the business planning/start-up phase of your Move Management business or already own an established business, you will join NASMM as a Provisional member.

Provisional membership gives you access to most NASMM member benefits EXCEPT 1) the use of the NASMM logo; 2) a listing on the NASMM consumer Find A Senior Move Manager page; and 3) voting privileges.

  • Once you provide NASMM with all of the requirements for Professional membership, your company will: 1) have access to the NASMM logo, 2) be listed on the NASMM Find A Senior Move Manager page, and 3) be eligible to vote in NASMM elections.


What are the requirements for Full Professional Membership?

  • Upload a copy of your general liability insurance declaration page to your “MyNASMM” member profile.
  • Complete and pass the NASMM Cornerstone Courses. There are four (4) courses: Safety, Ethics, The Moving Industry 101, and Understanding Contracts and Liability. These online courses are sold as a four-course bundle for $189 and must be purchased and completed by each company owner.
  • Provide a link to a live website highlighting your Move Management Services


Is there an expected time frame to meet the requirements for NASMM Professional Membership?

There is no deadline for completion of membership requirements. However, most NASMM Provisional Members convert to Professional Membership within a few months.


What are NASMM’s annual membership dues?

NASMM membership dues are $429 annually. NASMM accepts all major credit cards.


Am I certified if I am a NASMM Member?

No. NASMM is first and foremost a membership organization. You may obtain NASMM’s Senior Move Manager~Certified designation through advanced course work and proof of forty (40) invoiced projects. NASMM requires experience as a component of certification, and thus, it is earned. Click here for more information on NASMM’s SMM~C Certification.


I'm just starting out, and I don't have a business name quite yet. Can I still join NASMM now?

Yes! Your membership in NASMM will change as your business evolves. You may update your membership profile information at any time. Simply list "To Be Determined" in the "Company Name" field of the NASMM membership application.


I'm having trouble finding general business liability insurance. Can I join NASMM now without it?

Yes, you may join NASMM without general business liability insurance. NASMM offers an insurance program that is available to you immediately upon joining. You will receive the contact information after submitting your membership application.


Who needs to take the NASMM Cornerstone Courses?

Each owner of your company must purchase and complete the Cornerstone Courses.


May I take the Cornerstone Courses prior to joining NASMM?

No. Once your membership application is processed, you will receive a welcome email providing you with access to the courses, along with other important information. You must be logged in as a member to purchase the courses. Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement for each course.


How long does it take to process my application?

Allow five (5) business days for NASMM to process your application and confirm your membership. NASMM confirms all membership via e-mail.


Can I use the NASMM logo as a Provisional member?

No, you will have access to the logo upon completing all of the NASMM membership requirements.


How can I submit my application?

You must submit your application online. Payment is required at the time of application. NASMM accepts all major credit cards.
