National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO)

The boards of directors of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) and the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) are pleased to announced their newly created affiliation with the goal of leveraging resources and maximizing member benefits respectively.

The announcement was made in September, 2008.

The affiliation, which has no affect on the membership status of either NASMM or NAPO members, is designed to raise awareness of the services that each organizations' members provide, while providing those members with access to defined resources and benefits.

The affiliation with NASMM marks the first time that NAPO has created an organizational partnership with a group outside the traditional professional organizing field. NAPO is also affiliated with the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD) and Professional Organizers in Canada (POC). NAPO President Standolyn Robertson described the partnership with NASMM as a logical move that will further the missions of both organizations.

"Our affiliation with NASMM is a perfect fit and formally acknowledges the desires of both associations to leverage resources and promote education," said Robertson. "It also heralds a new chapter in NAPO history as we continue to seek strategic alliances with associations that complement our mission and enhance the membership experience for our members."

Under the agreement, NAPO and NASMM will trade marketing opportunities including newsletter advertising, exhibit space and educational session space at their annual conferences and both NAPO and NASMM will offer discounts to each others members for conference participation. This is an exclusive relationship, with NAPO agreeing only to partner with NASMM as their strategic partner in senior relocation services.

According to Mary Kay Buysse, NASMM's Executive Director, "We are excited about our new partnership as it creates increased visibility and business referrals for NASMM members. It also presents tremendous educational opportunities to educate a separate industry about the benefits of using senior move managers and recognizes NASMM as the leading authority on the senior move management industry."
