NASMM 2018
FIRST TIME ATTENDEES

Set goals and objectives for yourself. What do you hope to get out of the conference. Write it down and come ready to achieve!

Sign up for a NASMM Conference Mentor. Your Conference Mentor will contact you before the conference, meet you at the NASMM Hospitality Center to welcome you and be a support person for you during the conference. You can request a Conference Mentor when registering for NASMM 2018. All Conference Mentor requests must be received by December 1.

Stop by the NASMM Hospitality Center! The Hospitality Center will be open Saturday, February 24, from 12 pm - 5:30 pm. Meet up with your Mentor, meet conference volunteers and the NASMM Board. They are on hand to welcome you, and to help you make the most out of your NASMM 2018 conference experience.

Pack smartly. The dress code is business casual — be professional, but comfortable. Make sure you dress in layers — it can be warm outside, and chilly in the meeting rooms. Bring a jacket for evening activities and don't forget the chargers for your electronic devices. The average high daytime temperature in Ponte Vedra Beach in late February range from the high 60s to mid 70s and in the evenings temperatures range from the low to mid 50s.

When you arrive at NASMM 2018, go right to registration and pick up your badge, and your First Time Attendee Ribbon. Registration opens at 7:30 am on Saturday, February 24. Your First Time Attendee ribbon will easily identify you as a new attendee — you'll be amazed at the veteran attendees that will go out of their way to welcome you.

Take a walk around the meeting site to familiarize yourself with the locations of the meeting rooms, exhibit hall, general session rooms and the restrooms!

Pace yourself — this is an exciting three days. There is so much energy and activity, you'll want to make sure you can take in all NASMM 2018 offers, but also take time for yourself. The Sawgrass Marriott provides you with spa services, amazing golf and relaxing pools.

Review the schedule of Learning Labs in advance! There are plenty to choose from. Be sure you pick sessions that speak to you. If you find yourself in a session and it's not exactly what you wanted, feel free to move to a different session that better meets your needs!

Review the session handouts prior to leaving. All session handouts are available on the NASMM 2018 Mobile App. You will be provided access to the App in January, 2018.

Bring plenty of business cards — not just for the fantastic resources you'll discover in our Marketplace and Idea Exchange, but for the many new friends and colleagues you'll have by the end of the conference.

Stay connected with the NASMM 2018 Conference Mobile App, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Be sure to update your profile on the NASMM 2018 Mobile App — this way you'll be able to instantly connect with new friends! The NASMM Mobile App is designed to help you extend your meeting experience by creating your custom schedule, determining which exhibitor booths you want to be sure not to miss, and taking notes from your sessions. You can also follow along with the social media from the event!
